Addie Practices for Christmas Morning!!

Aunt Lindsey came over yesterday to deliver Addison's Christmas present! (thank you Aunt Linds.) Of course Aunt Lindsey didn't want to be in the pictures but this was the 1st Christmas present that Addie has opened so I had to break out the camera. She wasn't sure if she was able to tear the paper....but once Aunt Lindsey got her started she had a great time hearing that paper rip! Aunt Lindsey has claimed that she just couldn't find anything "cute enough" for Addie for Christmas...she said that she was on a mission to find something that would be "cute enough" for her! :) Well, Aunt Lindsey's mission was a success because she got her the cutest pair of PJ's with little monkeys on them!!! They are adorable Aunt Lindsey!!! Thank you!!!

Here are some pictures (of course) of Addie and Aunt Lindsey!

After Aunt Lindsey left, Aunt Tiffany and Uncle Tim came to visit Addie! That was fun! Later that night we went to Paw Paw's and Grandma Pilkington's house to eat tacos! YUM! There were a lot of presents on the floor and of course mommy and Addie had to get on the floor and check them out .... you know, just to make sure that all the presents had names on them (wink! wink!) Addie found hers right away...they were the ones with the big fluffy ribbons! She spent half of the night just playing with those ribbons! Before we left, Paw Paw thought it would be a great idea to let Addie Claire open one of her presents......so we did!! :0 That practice with Aunt Lindsey must have been a good experience because she ripped that paper off!!! She loved it.....but I am not sure who enjoyed it more...daddy or mommy! :) She loved the box the best....it was the cutest thing...she just kept reaching for it! :) So like always, here are some pictures!

Don and I just can't wait to watch her open all of her presents tomorrow morning! We are just so blessed! Merry Christmas!

P.S. Thanks Paw Paw for preventing the midnight run to Wal-Mart for diapers! :)

Addison's 1st Cookie Party!

Well, after a VERY eventful week last week, Addison and I went to our 2nd Annual Christmas Cookie Party with the Mabelvale crew! We started this last year and we had so much fun...not to mention a ton of cookies so we decided to do it again this year! This year Cheryl hosted and it was wonderful!! She was a fabulous host....we had lots of yummies to eat! (especially that grilled cheese....yum yum!) Addison had a great time seeing everyone, especially her new friends Lane and Mila! We had a great time at the party and daddy was very excited when we came home....lots of cookies to eat! It was great to see everyone (outside of school) and those that we don't get to see everyday! (Judith, Carol, and Lee!)
Here are some pictures that I thought I would share!!

This is Addie with her 3rd grandma we like to call "Ma"Donna!

Correction to the Below Blog: All I want for Christmas is my TWO front TEETH!

Well, since the last blog Addison Claire has gotten both of her front bottom teeth! She looks so cute with them. They are not all the way in of course, but they are definitly visible! Today, Addie and I went shopping for Daddy's Christmas Presents at a location I can't say....and while she was in her stroller she would look up at me and smile with those little teeth just a showing! What a way to melt mommy's heart!

She is growing, growing, growing!!! Too fast!!! We got her pictures with Santa in last night and they are great! I will post some later!!! She also had her pictures made at daycare and they came in this week. I had all intentions of not buying them...but came home with a bag full!!! They are too cute!!!

Well, we are off to look at more Christmas lights...with the secret intention of gettting Addie Claire to sleep!
Merry Christmas,
Jessica

All I want for Christmas is my front tooth...

Well, Miss Addie Claire now is the proud owner of a shiny new tooth! She has been teething for a while now, chewing on everything, and Friday was the BIG discovery! I picked her up from daycare last Friday and we were playing on the floor. Of course, being curious...I stuck my finger in her mouth to feel around. (This is something that I do regularly now) And...there it was!!! I was so excited!! I yelled for Don to come and feel it - to make sure I wasn't imagining things. You should have seen his face. He put his finger in her mouth and felt around with a not sure look...then all of a sudden, he got a huge smile on his face....he had found that new little tooth! We were all sitting in the floor smiling, even Addie...like she was so proud of herself. It's bittersweet though, because even though my little girl is getting to be a "big girl" it means that she is not my little baby anymore! :(

I tried to get some pictures of that shiny new tooth....but of course she wouldn't let me! I'll keep trying!

Christmas Princess!

Addison Claire Pilkington
This year at Holiday House I bought Addie the cutest Christmas TuTu ever!!! She wore it for our Christmas Card pictures. While, Don was walking yesterday I thought I would take a couple pictures of Addison in her tutu in front of the tree! They turned out cute!

Apparently, Addison was done with the picture taking!!

Santa Pictures

Don and I took Addison to have her 1st meeting with Santa yesterday! We went to Beth Martin Photography. (love her!) Our appointment was at 11am and Addie had been asleep for awhile. So, I woke her about at 10am, gave her a bath and got all ready! She was in a great mood! I just knew that this was going to go great!!!! So, we got there and we had to wait a little while, apparently the little boy ahead of us was terrified of Santa! Well, Santa came out into the lobby where we were waiting and talked to Addie for a bit! She wasn't scared a bit! I was definitly getting good vipes about this!!!

Beth came to get us and we went back with Santa! She had the cutest backgroud. Santa was sitting in a big chair with a fireplace going and a tree, the typical all-american setting. So, I handed Addie to Santa and the first thing she did was grab for was his beard! She almost pulled it off!!! Poor Santa! We kept pulling her hands out of Santa's beard which really made her mad....because who doesn't want to play with Santa's beard? Beth got some good shots....until....Addie decided to throw a huge fit!! She was hungry. AHHH! So I gave Santa a bottle and he fed Addie on his lap! Even though, it wasn't going as planned....how precious is a picture of Santa feeding a baby!!! So we yanked the bottle away, as she was kicking off her shoes...and Don, Beth and I were practically standing on our heads to make her smile! We did get a couple of good smiles.....so I know the pictures will be great! I can't wait to see them!!! As soon as we got in the car, the fit was over and Addie was all smiles....go figure!!!! Maybe next year with Santa will go a little more smoothly.....or maybe not!!!
While I was getting ready, Don took some pictures of Addie in her Christmas dress. Here they are....

Don is pretty good at taking pictures with the timer!!!

Addison's favorite thing to do....stand!!!!!

Addison's 1st parade!

On Thursday, Don & I took Addison to Bryant's 1st ever parade of lights! It was freezing Thursday so we bundled Addie up and away we went. The parade started at Bryant's 1st Southern Baptist Church, which is right by our house. We parked at the nearby parking lot (which was easier than I thought it would be) and we waited for it to start. Aunt Lindsey (my best-friend) had a float in the parade so we were anxious to see her! We stayed in the car until it started and watched right on the side of the street. I thought Addie might be scared because the parade started with a police escort with the lights flashing and sirens going, but NOT Addie...she just looked around....(G-O-O-D! like Aunt Tiffany and I would say!) The parade started and she loved it! There were many floats with music and people singing Christmas carols....Addie's eyes were big and she would not take her eyes off of the floats. We had her bundled up but she would not keep her mittens on or wrapped in the blankets. She had to have them out to. When she gets excited she shakes her arms up and down....she was doing that the whole time. The parade lasted about 30 minutes and at the end we saw Santa.....Addie's 1st time seeing him! The parade was great...and Congrats to Aunt Lindsey for winning 1st prize on her school's float!
Here are some pictures...like always!

~Catching Up~

Well, Don & I have been busier than ever! We used to complain before we had Addison Claire that we were always bored....not now! Our lives are a constant go~! A lot has taken place since I have blogged last...I have promised myself that I will try to blog 1 time a week.

Away for the Weekend

We went on our first trip away from home to see Aunt Tiffany and Uncle Tim. Addison did so good on the car ride up & even better on the way home!! We had a very eventful day - we got up Saturday and where out of the house at 9:00 to SHOP! SHOP! SHOP! Uncle Tim and Don ventured out with Aunt Tiffany, Addie Claire and I! Poor Uncle Tim, I'm not sure he knew what he was in for! It turned out that it was the coldest day Fayetteville had so far this year and of course, we chose that day to shop our hearts out! Addie was ( g-o-o-d!) as we spelled because we were scared that if we said it, she may overhear and try to prove us wrong! She was AWESOME though! The only times she got fussy was when she got hungry - and of course the "Baby Bumblebee" song always cheers her up! Uncle Tim now hates that song....but in a pinch I am sure he would sing it! :) All day shopping, Addie got tons for Christmas and Don got lots.....but poor me....I came home with nothing! (wouldn't have it any other way though~)
So, below is a picture that Don took on the way to Fayettevile....we planned to take more... but it was to darn cold!
UGGS
Santa visited Addie Claire early this year and got her a pair of UGGS! Well, of course I had to let her wear them early...because it's cold (wink wink) and they are just too darn cute!!! Thanks Santa for being so understanding!!!:)
Thanksgiving

Addison celebrated her first Thanksgiving this year!! She seemed to like it! Don and I have decided that she loves to be out and about! (Who does that sound like?) She was very G-O-O-D, as Aunt Tiffany and I like to say! Wednesday night we went to the annual Pilkington Bon-Fire at Unlce Bob and Aunt Mary Lou's house! All the family was there....and it was great to see them all. The Pilkingtons have had a lot of babies born lately and still one more on the way...so the kids were the center of attention. Addie fell in love with her cousin Ethan! He entertained her by making funny noises and falling down pretending that Addie shot him! It was precious to see those two play! Below is a photo of Addie with all of her cousins.

On Thursday morning, Addie helped me cook my famous Banana Pudding & Hashbrown Casserole! That was really fun! I know that she didn't know what she was really doing (except chewing on the vanilla wafer package) but it meant so much to me. I just can't wait for the many more Thanksgivings to come!! At noon we went to the Pilkingtons (Don's parents) and had lunch! It was yummy!!! And of course, we ate WAY TO MUCH! Most people would have been done by then, but we are Pilkingtons!!! We were not done! After that, we went to my mom's and ate a late lunch! Again, it was yummy! Don and I were both stuffed but we found room to eat that wonderful food - because my mom made my favorites! Aunt Tiffany and Uncle Tim were down so they got to see Addie Claire and believe it or not....Addie and Uncle Tim did some bonding! :) At my mom's, my cousins and their kids were in.....and Addie LOVES Kids!!! My cousin has a baby that is one day younger than Addie Claire, and they loved each other!!!! We tried to teach Addie how to eat like Cassie....because she still will not eat off of a spoon!!! It was a wonderful visit with all....and we are truly "thankful" for the wonderful people we have in our lives!

Decorating for Christmas

I have been dying to decorate our house for Christmas, but have been holding out until the day after Thanksgiving because I wanted to stay with traditon! Especially, with Addie here now...I am all about tradition (even though it gets on Don's nerves! ) We went ahead and put the lights on the house (I will post pictures later) when it was a little warmer and I went ahead and did a little decorating like the entry way table, arrangements for the entertainment center,etc.... but I had to wait to put the tree up! So, the day after Thanksgiving arrived and I was so excited! We were in our Christmas jammies (pajamas) and I found an awesome station on the TV that played Christmas music....and away we went! Luckily, Addison took a nap while Don and I assembled the tree and she woke up just in time to put the first decorations on....She had a lot of fun (with the paper) while I unwrapped the decorations! The tree turned out great! Most of all, I love to watch her little face look at those lights!

~The FINISHED Product!~

The Benton Square
Aunt Tiffany and Uncle Tim came over Saturday night to take our Christmas Card pictures! (pretty hard to do with a baby!~Aunt Tiffany practically had to stand on her head~) After that, we took a Christmas Light tour in Saline County. We stopped at the Courthouse Square to check out what they had! Don says it isn't as much as last year, but it was very nice!

Here are some pictures:

Addison's BIG Day

Addison was baptized on Sunday, November 30, 2008! Mass was at 8:30 so Don and I woke up extra early to "wear" Addie out! We fed her, we played with her all in hopes that she would sleep through mass! Well, guess what!!! She didn't! She was really G-O-O-D though! The service was wonderful, and I felt very overwhelmed with emotion (I guess this is the mom thing in me now!) knowing that Don & I brought this wonderful child into the world and we were making our promise to raise her in God's name. It was a wonderful experience! Addie looked precious! She just kept smiling up at Father John when he would speak to her and when he poured the water over her head...she just smiled up at him with the most perfect little grin. Who couldn't love that face? All in all, it was a perfect day....Don's mom and dad were there, along with Godparents Uncle Tim and Aunt Tiffany, and my mom!

Addison's Great-Aunt Cherrynell gave this to her before she was born! What a special day for her to wear it!
